What's the worst part of a hot flash?

No need to hold back here. Share with us what the most frustrating, uncomfortable, and downright maddening part of having a hot flash is. Venting and honestly encouraged!

  1. the worst part for me is when I get irritable and hot out of the blue, I tend to get snappy at everyone and thankfully my husband understands. however it is worse when the a/c is off and we don't need it much, I still wake up in the morning feeling hot. I did however get bloodwork done to see where everything is at this point and I have an appt. July 20th to see what can be adjusted.

    1. I too am on HRT. I am on Estrodiol 1mg and Progesterone 200mg.

    2. It must be frustrating when the HRT isn't enough to make a difference. There are other medications that can help with the hot flashes or the mood swings that come with menopause. Here's an article about the different medical options that might be useful to review before your doctor's appointment. Let us know how that goes. All the best, Kathy (Team member)

    2. Please let me know what she says. All the best, Kathy (Team member)

  3. I also have multiple sclerosis. Combined with hormonal issues I do not temperature regulate very well. I like the previous descriptions like my body is in the oven or sun is inside me. Cannot cool down.

    1. Thank for sharing your experience. Have you discovered our sister site for those living with MS? On that site, here's an article about menopause and MS that I thought might interest you. All the best, kathy (Team member)

  4. My hot flashes comes very frequently every day. It feels like someone put my head inside an oven. It is a miserable feeling.

    1. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this! Your description of how you feel is vivid! Thank you for sharing. Warmly, Kathy (Team member)
